    Horse Judging


    We would like to congratulate our 2017- 2018 Hippology Team: Kyra Feland, Kelsey Hughes, Kami Packer, and Rachel Poulsen for placing 6th overall at Western National Roundup last week. The team also placed 4th overall in the Written Exam/Slides Phase, 6th overall in the Station Phase, and 8th overall in the Team Problem Phase. 

    We would also like to congratulate Kyra Feland for Placing 5th individually in the Written Exam/Slides Phase and 10th overall High Individual. 

    We would also like to congratulate Kami Packer for placing 8th individually in the Written Exam/Slides Phase.



    Before youth can participate in the 4-H Horse program they must first become a member of 4-H. To do this you must do three things. 

      1st: Click HERE to find a club near you. 

      2nd: Create a profile at https://ut.4honline.com 

      3rd: Pay the $10.00 enrollment fee (online, over the phone, or in person).

    April 25, 2018: Horse Public Speaking Contest - Time slots at time of registration. Come participate in the horse public speaking contest. Open to youth grades 3 - 12. Senior youth wishing to qualify for State 4-H Contests MUST participate in order to qualify.     April 28, 2018: Horse Health Day - Utah State University Equine Extension is sponsoring a day of equine education classes. Topics include travel requirements, horse show biosecurity, vaccination protocols, parasitology, saddle fitting, and farrier science. Classes start at 10 am with 2 hours of lecture, followed by lunch, and finishing with hands on experiences in saddle fitting and farrier science. Enrollment is capped at 40 participants. Lunch is provided with registration. To keep this a professional experience we would like to invite participants to be 14 years old and older.     May 9, 2018: Horse Bowl #3 - 6:00 p.m. at the Utah County 4-H Office. Come participate in the Horse Bowl contest. Come as a team or come alone but just come. Senior youth wishing to qualify for State 4-H Contests must participate in at least one horse bowl in order to qualify. State Qualifiers will be selected based on their individual performance. To encourage and reward effort, 5 extra points will be awarded to each individual based on how many bowl contests they attend.  


    May 19, 2018: Millard County 4-H Horse and Livestock Camp. Millard County 4-H is opening up an amazing opportunity to all 4-H youth interested in horse or livestock projects. You do not have to currently be participating in this project in order to attend. Register online at ut.4honline.com by May 4, 2018. Registration is $10.00 and includes lunch and a shirt.
