Utah County 4-H Livestock Program
We would like to congratulate our 2017- 2018 Livestock Bowl Team: Jared Roach, Britton Redd, Stran Sorensen, and Tyler Morgan for placing 5th overall at Western National Roundup last week. We would also like to congratulate Jared Roach for placing 2nd individually!!!
Before youth can participate in the 4-H Livestock program they must first become a member of 4-H. To do this you need to do three things.
1st: Click HERE to find a club near you.
2nd: Create a profile at https://ut.4honline.com
3rd: Pay the $10.00 enrollment fee (online, over the phone, or in person).
If you would like to participate but do not have access to a place to raise your livestock please check out the YALL Program. More information can be found online HERE.

May 14, 2018: Livestock Tagging #4
When: May 14, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Where: Spanish Fork Fairgrounds Back Parking Lot
LAST OPPORTUNITY for Steers wishing to participate in the Utah County Fair (Spanish Fork).
LAST OPPORTUNITY for Goats, Sheep, and Hogs wishing to participate in the Southeastern Utah Jr. Livestock Show (Ferron).
OPEN to all species wishing to participate in any later shows..
June 11 - 15, Registration Deadline May 15: Teen Summer Camp Grades 8-12 (Just finishing these grades) at the USU Bear Lake Training Center.
Cost ONLY $75 Register online by May 15 at http://ut.4honline.com Join us for an amazing 4-H Teen Summer Camp. Cost includes most meals, transportation, and activities. You can look forward to fun things like: *Swimming and paddle board at Bear Lake (plus yummy raspberry shakes!) *Rappelling in Paris Ice Caves & ropes course at USU *Show at Pickleville Playhouse *Archery and caving *Leadership workshops and more!
May 18, 2018: 4-H Friday. Have you ever wondered how to enter items in the county fair? Or wondered what you can enter? Did you know youth can enter many different projects, and each one will earn a ribbon and money?The entire family is invited to join us for 4-H Friday. Bring your neighbors and friends who are not members of 4-H to learn more about 4-H.
Dinner will be provided and starts right at 6 pm.
Teens and younger kids: Rotate through activities, fun crafts, and a service project planned and led by the Teen Council.
Youth ages 3-5: Stay in one room to play games planned and led by the Junior Ambassadors.
Adults: Get to attend workshops to learn more about our 4-H program
May 19, 2018: Millard County 4-H Horse and Livestock Camp. Millard County 4-H is opening up an amazing opportunity to all 4-H youth interested in horse or livestock projects. You do not have to currently be participating in this project in order to attend. Register online at ut.4honline.com by May 4, 2018. Registration is $10.00 and includes lunch and a shirt.
May 21, 2018: Horse and Livestock Portfolio Night - 6:00 p.m. at the Utah County 4-H Office. Need help getting started on your 4-H portfolio? Come get help, get started, update, and learn all about scholarships and contest opportunities associated with 4-H portfolios. Be sure to bring your current portfolio if you have one. If not please bring a list of the activities you have participated in and information about your project.
May 21 - June 2, 2018: 4-H SPECIAL GARDEN PROJECT – BEETS
Beet Seeds Available At the 4-H Office—100 E. Center St. Suite L700, Provo. Are you looking for a fun project this summer? How about growing beets! You can learn about growing beets and exhibit them at the county fair. We have free beet seeds available at our office, or you can purchase them at an garden center. Plant according to the instructions on your packet. (Plant no less than 60 days before the county fair, so by June 12!) After you harvest them, you can show them at the county fair in August!

June 4-6, 2018: JYC (Junior Youth Conference)

Adults: We need volunteer chaperones and we will cover your registration Registration cost for Utah County is ONLY $62.50 (Other counties -$125)
This amazing youth conference is for 5-6 graders. You will play water games, participate in fun workshops, have a dance, and much more! For more information, and to see a video about it, check out their website. See you then! Worth 1 4-H Achievement point.
June 9, 2018: Springville and Orem Parades We need 4-H youth and their families to join our 4-H float at the parades throughout the summer! We are in need of people to ride on the float and walk along passing out fliers. We ask that you wear this years 4-H shirt.If you do not have one, they are available to pick up at the office. We also have 2 clover costumes for kids to wear in the parade! Register online at https://ut.4honline.com
June 28, 2018: 4-H DAY CAMP
Free for all 4-H youth and their families are invited. 9 am to 2 pm At Canyon Glen Park in Provo Canyon Join us for our annual 4-H Day Camp! Attendees need to bring their own lunch, water bottle and wear sunscreen. Come dressed to get wet and dirty in a chalk fight! Our theme this year is Summer Fun!

July 31, 2018: Cloverbud Camp – Grades K-2
Cost $10 (includes lunch, t-shirt, and supplies) 9:30 am to 1 pm Register online at http://ut.4honline.com At the 4-H office. Let the Olympic Games begin! At this camp, youth will learn about different countries around the world as they play Olympic games. There will be fun competitions and the youth will earn medals. This is for youth Kindergarten to 2nd grade and is planned by our Junior Ambassadors, youth 6-8th grade.
